What is HVAC Commissioning
BALANCE initiates the commissioning process of any ventilation system with a thorough examination of the system installed to secure conformity with all de- tails of design and specifications. We check whether all parts of the system are at hand and have been installed in accordance with national building regulations. As far as ships are concerned, we follow directions of SOLAS , The International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea.
Subsequently, the system is switched on, all functions are examined and the pro- cess of air balancing is carried though.
Finally, Balance measures the energy consumption of the HVAC system and
finds solutions to lower it. The HVAC system has a significant importance to the amount of energy consumed in any building or vessel. When lying still, a modern ocean cruise ship often expends up to 20 tons of fuel to operate the HVAC per day.
