Project Hyperion Commissioning: Balancing Efficiency and Precision
Balance was contracted to assist Mitsubishi Heavy Industries with Project Hyperion, originally a series of 5 ships, including 3 optional vessels, for AIDA Cruises in Germany. From the design phase, we conducted a comprehensive design review, focusing on optimal component placement for ease of commissioning, access considerations, and serviceability.
Our involvement extended to advising MHI on the most efficient approach to build HVAC systems for passenger ships. On the inaugural ship, AIDAprima, Balance contributed to system commissioning and assumed a major role on the second vessel, AIDAperla.
With a team of 12-14 dedicated commissioning engineers, HVAC commissioning was seamlessly executed, never causing significant delays in the delivery of both ships. All systems were successfully handed over to the shipowner, AIDA Cruises, demonstrating Balance's commitment to efficiency and precision in maritime HVAC solutions.
